In many parts of the world women still live oppressed and as 2nd class citizens.  International Women’s Day is a great event with great resources.  I encourage all women & men to check it out.

Cindy Dhaliwal, event coordinator for SAFA’s International Women’s Day Event writes;

The South Asian Family Association (SAFA) presents a free public event celebrating the Goddesses in our lives on International Women’s Day – March 8, 2009. With informational trade show providers, closed door workshops, keynote speakers and panel discussions focusing on 4 pillars of a woman’s life: Empowerment and Professional Development, Lifestyle: Health, Beauty and Fitness, Financial Health and Women in the Media.

The first 500 attendees will receive a free tote bag. Event will be hosted at SFU Surrey Campus, 102 Avenue and King George Highway from 12:00pm to 5:30pm.
