'A Warrior's Religion' Premiere Screenings - March 18th & 19th 2009 Official Event Poster

“A Warrior’s Religion” This Evening (Thursday) at Bell Centre and  Public Apology to attendees of the 5:15 show yesterday

“To everyone that came to show their support for the 5:15pm screening of ‘A Warrior’s Religion’ on March 18th.  We apologize for the disruption of the screening with the fire alarm.  It has been brought to our attention that a youth pulled the fire alarm in attempt to sabotage the event.  This matter has been turned over to the Surrey RCMP.

Though most guests returned to their seats after the 35 minute delay, some opted to leave, understandably.  As they missed the last 30 minutes of the film, we would like to provide them the opportunity to come out and watch the entire film at no cost on today’s 5:15pm screening.  Please bring your ticket stubs for free entrance. The response from the community has been very supportive and I am humbled by this.  Almost 900 people attended the two screenings yesterday.  If you have not yet seen the film, I encourage you to come to today’s screenings at at either 5:15 or 7:45 pm.  Tickets will be available at the door at a cash price of $12.50 each, however tickets for the 7:45 show are very limited.

Thank you kindly,

Mani Amar”A Warrior’s Religion is 101 minutes and rated PG.  It is a poetic documentary that investigates possible precursors of heavy Indo-Canadian gang violence through the late nineties up to 2005.  The release of this film is timely given the current levels of gang activity in the Lower Mainland.  Though his research was focused on the Indo-Canadian community, Amar stated yesterday in 24Hrs that gangland activity has transcended ethnic boundaries.

Please forward this message to your networks.
